About me

I’ve always seen painting as a way to unravel what's beneath the surface—both in the world and within ourselves. My journey began in Cluj, in the heart of classic, rigorous study, but it took on a new life during my time in Saarbrücken. There, I was drawn into a world of experimentation, where art could be a response to the present while echoing the past.

Expressionism, figurative painting—these are where my roots lie. But each piece is also an invitation, a nod to something timeless yet constantly evolving, like a memory that feels vivid, even if it was never quite real.

My life is a kind of chosen schizophrenia. Balancing the demands of being an artist, a curator, and a gallerist is not a fate I stumbled upon, but a path I have willingly embraced. There is no clarity over my destiny; I live amidst ambiguity, and I thrive in it. The interplay between these roles feeds my creativity and fuels my work. Vault One Gallery, which I co-founded and where I serve as artistic leader, is one part of this journey. It’s a place where we’ve curated over 20 exhibitions, giving more than 40 artists a platform, and each exhibit is a moment to challenge conventions and invite others to see beyond.

My creative process is deeply influenced by the many sides of my life—all of which constantly inform one another. What I learn as a curator enhances my perspective as a painter, and what I absorb in my artistic practice brings depth to my curatorial work. Even my involvement in a seemingly distant field, one that deals with technology and systems, becomes a fertile ground for my creativity. Here, problems from one part of my life transform into inspiration for another. Technological complexities might find expression in a concept for an exhibition, while the challenges of color and composition in my paintings lead me to new ways of thinking through problems in another sphere. This interconnectedness, this synthesis of seemingly disparate worlds, keeps me always in motion—building, creating, and questioning.

For me, art isn’t just about what's on the canvas; it's about forging connections across realms, whether they are cultural, personal, or even technological. It’s about the space between things, where the unseen threads of life begin to reveal themselves and where distant elements find resonance. My work—both on the canvas and beyond—is a testament to that exploration.

THE PROJECT I BELIEVE IN

This is the work of a few young dreamers; we built it together from the ground up, and today it has become a solid reality. Alongside my partners, I run a gallery in Cluj, dedicated to providing a platform for young contemporary artists.
